What the Rage Spell is Used for in Clash of Clans
A lot of people think that the main reason to use the Rage Spell is to boost your Troops damage output with the additional damage they can deal with the Rage Spell, but the main reason to use it is to benefit from the boost the Rage Spell adds to the speed of your Troops.
Placing the Rage Spell Correctly
One very important thing I have told you in the last episode about the Healing Spell is to always place the Spell where your Troops will go and not where they currently are. This applies even more in case of the Rage Spell because it will make your Troops go even faster through the Spell but you also have to be careful – if your Troops get killed on the way to the Rage Spell you won’t have any benefit from it. I want to show you my technique on a Balloon attack:
You can see the Balloons are dropped in a line outside and they slowly move towards their targets. If you would now place the Rage Spells quite much outside that they directly benefit from them they can go to the first line of defenses quite fast but after that the Rage Spells wouldn’t help them very much anymore. This is a crucial point at the whole attack because your Balloons don’t have the worst part on the outside as only a few Defenses are shooting at them and they’re outside the range of the inside Defenses. In this case it’s better to let the Balloons slowly go near the first line of Defenses and then give them the boost they need with the Rage Spells:
The Ballons now go much faster and they haven’t gotten destroyed in a way that will make them that much weaker that they aren’t able any more to win the attack. If you need to place a Rage Spell the way your Troops will benefit directly from it without having the risk of wasting any of its potential drop it about 3-4 tiles away from them (this is pretty much about 1 buildings space).
Another very important thing is that the Rage Spell is not stacking so never overlap Rage Spells. You want to cover as much of area you can so try to not waste any of the area you can cover with overlapping Rage Spells.
What Troops are supported by the Rage Spell
As I mentioned in the beginning the Rage Spell is very strong because of its ability to make Troops go faster. I personally only use the Rage Spell for Balloons, Dragons, Giants and P.E.K.K.A. because they are very slow and gain the most effect from the Rage Spell.
One last thing to Spell composition – I have heard a couple of times that the Rage Spell is best used with the Healing Spell. I’m not sure where this comes from but I personally don’t think it’s a very good tactic if you look at the Troops you should use the Rage Spell with and the Healing Spell with. You should also mind that the Rage Spell makes the Troops go faster and leave the area quite fast and the best benefit for the Healing Spell is to make Troops stay within the area as long as possible to get the full Spell effect – I think you see where my point is? The Rage Spell is making the effect of the Healing Spell less strong.
