After your clan is matched up against another clan the Preparation Day starts – so far so good. Now the big scouting starts and everyone is taking a closer look at the enemy bases to see which one to attack, where the weak spots are, and where the Hidden Teslas and Giant Bombs could be (in addition you can see here two posts from the Raiding checklist series how to make a good battle plan with Dragons or plan your Hog Rider attack).
Possible Positions: Spot Hidden Tesla or Giant Bomb
First of all you will look for spots that could contain either a Hidden Tesla or a Giant Bomb – from this position you can tell often what kind of surprise is hidden there. Let me give you an example here. In this case it’s pretty obvious that the Hidden Teslas are inside the 2×2 spaces surrounded by Walls (who would protect a Giant Bomb like this?).
But what about this situation? More difficult, but I would assume the Hidden Teslas are in the middle and the Giant Bombs are in the outer ring:
So now it gets weird – what would you think now?
The last example is just gambling – nothing else. Really? Let’s have a look from a logical point of view. A Town Hall 10 can have 4 Hidden Teslas and it’s unlikely that they are all grouped together. I would assume that 2 of them are in the inside core and the others spread more to cover the area (the yellow ones would be my guess):
So let’s see how it turns out:
Sometimes you’re the hunter and sometimes you’re the bear, but if you take some time to think how you would spread out Hidden Tesla’s in this layout, you will probably be right 8 out of 10 times. If you only see 4 of these spots inside the Walls you can be almost certain that this will be the Hidden Teslas because only a few people expose their Hidden Teslas.
You can also use this in normal attacks, but there is only 30 seconds time and you will probably use them to make your plan or decide whether to attack or not.
